The design for the park and new building is in proximity to Kings Cross Central. The new residential developments within the area and Regent's Canal, informed the design and Islington Council’s policies in relation to the proposed scheme.
The tender design proposal for the park embraced a new organic and fluvial theme, with landscaped mounds and curving planting beds enhancing overall biodiversity. Allotment areas were proposed in hexagonal forms to mimic the efficient use of space in honeycombs. The natural play area used sculpted landforms, natural stone boulders with exciting activity trails to encourage 'all inclusive' creative play where possible.
